It’s true - I too enjoy long walks on the beach! You may not know this, but I practically grew up on the shore of Old Fort Bay, Bahamas. I’ve been spoiled from my tan to my toes by heavenly sands and the bluest shade of ocean I’ve ever seen. Needless to say, when I am here I am at home. Having made many local friends over the years, I get to see parts of the island tourists can’t find on any map. I’m excited to share these secrets with you!

My first stop when I get to town? I’m headed straight to dinner at Mahogany House for their blackened snapper!

For lunch, I opted for something much lighter (and spicier) - freshly caught conch salad at Old Fort Bay beach club!

Though I wasn’t able to participate during this visit (I’m pregnant in case you forgot, haha), the beach club is also known for their Rum Dumbs! The Rum Dumb is an island specialty drink made of a blend of countless rums and fresh lime and yet somehow tastes delicious! Another reason why so many of us have changed our flights to stay an extra day!

Instead of indulging in drinks by the beach, I spent my time strolling along the sand, catching some sun, and enjoying The Island House spa as a hotel guest and a visitor of the island hideaway. I loved treating my baby belly (and myself) to a little extra love with their decadent and relaxing Bamford spa treatments. Plus, starting each day with my Asana Rebel yoga workout didn’t hurt! Filling my days with self-care and relaxation have continued to allow me the time to always be truly grateful of the life we live.

I’ve been coming here for many years, but I can’t wait to share all of it's beauty with our little girl!
